4 July 2017 (by admin)

More than 2,000 children and their families, teachers and local residents came to the annual Summer Fair held on the site of Woodpecker Hall Primary Academy on Nightingale Road.

CHAT Academies Chief Executive, Marino Charalambous said: “This was a record breaking year for us both in terms of the number of people who came and also the different and very varied activities we provided, including free activies. It was also great to see so many local residents as we consider our five schools to be very much part of the life of the local community.”
Highlights of the day included a dozen musical and theatrical performances, a wide range of games and other stalls, face painting, guess the name of the giant white rabbit, and a very popular cake competition. There was also a boxing demonstration by local club Enfield Eagles.
Guests included, the Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Christine Hamilton, Leader of the Council, Cllr Doug Taylor, and the councillor for the ward, Cllr Bernie Lappage.
The Mayor made a special trophy award to the Woodpecker Children’s Glee Club, recently crowned Glee champions of Edmonton.
